About Us

“Together, we preserve tradition, share culture, and build community.”

Atlantic Hindu Society was founded in 2017 by a group of local families who shared a common dream of building the first dedicated Hindu temple in Atlantic Canada. Through volunteer efforts and strong community support, the organization has steadily grown.

Over the years, the Society has organized religious gatherings, cultural festivals, and fundraising events while working toward the construction of a traditional South Indian–style temple. Major celebrations, including divine weddings (Kalyanams) and Hindu festivals, now bring together hundreds of devotees and well-wishers each year, reflecting the unity and devotion of the community.

Atlantic Hindu Society is built on the spirit of volunteerism and community participation. Members and supporters actively contribute by:

  • Organizing religious services, bhajans, and spiritual discourses

  • Hosting cultural programs and educational activities for children and youth

  • Supporting families and newcomers settling in Atlantic Canada

  • Collaborating with local and interfaith organizations to promote peace, harmony, and mutual respect
